Our dedicated team of teachers is committed to discovering and nurturing the unique strengths of each student, fostering a genuine love for practicing, creating, and performing music.

Mrs A’s Music School currently offer the following lessons to people of all ages and

stages: Piano; Singing; Guitar; Drums; Bass; Ukulele; Violin, Recorder; Theory and NCEA

Coaching:

Lessons will be held in schools, the ‘Band Bus’ or at Mrs A’s Music studios.

Pre - Enrollment

Individual Lessons

Individual lessons are booked for the full term.

  • 9 weeks plus a Performance Event.

    As per school term

  • Individual - 20 Minutes $260

    Individual - 30 Minutes $390

    Other options are possible by negotiation

Casual Lessons

Individual lessons with no full term commitment made by student or teacher.

  • Not applicable.

  • Individual - 20 Minutes $55

    Individual - 30 Minutes $80

Group Lessons

Bus Band or Specialty Labs
Lessons are booked for full term.

*Not available in Christchurch presently.

Extra Information

  • Typically due to Lockdowns or illness may include:

    ♪ Zoom / Skype Lesson – individual face to face online lesson with student.

    ♪ Video Resources – prepared online video links designed to aid practice

    ♪ Personalized Video Support – personal online video links, practice advice

  • All reasonable care has been taken to ensure students and staff are safe. All teachers are police vetted, experienced in their chosen field and believe in our core values. Family members are encouraged to attend lessons, however, supervision of younger siblings is the responsibility of parents and teachers are not responsible for students outside of the agreed lesson time.

  • If a student is unwell or showing flu like symptoms we ask that they stay at home and We offer on line materials for reference during this

    time.If teaching staff are unable to attend the lesson due to illness, a substitute teacher will be provided. If this is not possible, we will offer an online, catch up lesson or credit.

  • We encourage performing when students feel confident, and have something polished to share, each term. It is important to ease into this situation, and so we prepare items with students carefully. If a student is not ready, or unavailable, a video performance may be provided instead. A variety of performance events and opportunities are made available and may include: rest homes; studio concerts; busking; cafes; competitions and recordings. Included in the term fees is a contribution for limited teacher time assisting their students at these events.

    Funds raised at performance events are usually donated to the ‘Release the Music’ Charitable Trust which assists some families financially with their music lesson fees.

  • ‘Release the Music ‘is a Charitable Trust ’ who award scholarships to students requiring

    financial assistance. If you would like to apply for a scholarship please email the trustees c/o

  • Mrs A’s Music School occasionally use images (photographs and videos) for promotional

    purposes unless written notification to the contrary is provided at enrolment. Students will not be identified without consent
